Well, it's the end of the first week and I don't feel any differently than I did a week ago. I had the breast biopsy on 8/16. The news came Monday afternoon. Ductal Carcinoma In Situ. As far as cancer goes, I drew a pretty good card. It is one of the most treatable forms. That doesn't mean treatment is going to be easy. The next couple of months are going to suck! I see the surgeon on Tuesday. Surgery is definitely in my future; the question is how extensive... I guess my dreams of becoming a topless dancer are out. Oh well. Guess I'll have to save the world instead.

Gary: The Human Cannonball, Driver of the Clown Car, and Purveyor of Funnel Cakes
In all fairness, Gary chose this title for himself. He is gourmet cook, saver of lives, and husband-extraordinaire. An emergency room nurse for more years than he'd like to admit, he loves sailing, great food and travel. He shares Steph's opinion of this diagnosis, just another challenge that we will overcome in our adventure together through life.

Meet Our Girls
Ripley, Hudson and Lola are our girls. Ripley, the smallest of the three AND the alpha dog, has designated herself as official caretaker of all in our household. Hudson is the typical second child and takes everything in stride, but she makes up for Ripley's overachieving by being the "class clown." Lola, the newest member, is referee and watches everything that happens in the house. Despite being a rottweiler (which my goddaughter calls "a fearsome breed") she is a total pussycat. A constant joy for us, as well as THE constant source of the largest dust bunnies known to man, they keep us entertained daily.
